CreatureBox style attempts!

I have always been inspired by the two-man company known as CreatureBox... their artwork is fantastic, full of vibrant colour and life. They did the concept art for the Ratchet and Clank games. Here is a link to their site: http://creaturebox.com/

I have been trying out their style, using Sketchbook Pro for the lineart then importing over to Photoshop for the colouring. Here are two images I made, based on the previous Lombax designs I did in my last post. I'm hoping to try out more in this style!

Moar 3D work! (3D Kaden lombax)

I am currently making a new model in Zbrush of a character from the game, Ratchet and Clank. The character I am modelling  is Ratchet's father, Kaden. I chose this guy because he has never EVER appeared in the games apart from in one picture in a pocket watch... which is here:

So this gave me great material to practice modelling from a concept on.

Here is the first initial shot of my model:
Just fleshing out the body shapes and structure. Nothing is set in stone yet.

And now onto shaping the face and making the beginning of his armour:

I modelled the clothes onto a seperate sub tool layer so I can easily edit them later.

And now onto my most recent screen shot so far:

Pretty much finished the face, I have now started the armour and such.

That's all for now! Click on each image to view them larger!

Some 3D work

I have been messing around in Maya and Zbrush, trying to get the hang of 3D. It's hard, especially the texturing, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. The hoverboard model was made in Maya, and the character, Ratchet, and modelled in Zbrush. I found Zbrush to be much better for scultping organic things, but I always end up with millions of polygons! :O

Character and item design are from the game, Ratchet and Clank. BEST GAME EVER.

Enjoy!
